Open Auditions - West End children 'Oliver'

All Artemis Agency clients who fit the profile will have already been submit for appropriate roles - please do not re-submit yourself! Check with the office if you are unsure.
Non Artemis Agency performers should have a parent or guardian submit them on their behalf.
Notes from the casting director Jo Hawes:
Please read the info below. Please make suggestions on separate emails for each show with the name of the child, dob, age, height and area in which they live i.e their education authority. No photos required except for THE LION KING and SOUTH PACIFIC. Please note in all cases boys must have unbroken voices and girls must be undeveloped.
I am unable to help anyone who is too tall or too old for any of these productions and I do not cast adults or have any information about adult casting. So sorry but time does not permit a response to email outside the limits set out below.
All suggestions welcome for all of the shows below providing the children fit the criteria – if they do not I am unable to see them. So sorry but all shows are very specific and the criteria are all there for very good reasons.
I am only able to take enquiries by email for reasons of time!
Auditions ongoing – we often need Olivers and Dodgers who can come from anywhere.
Gang must be London based.
Ensemble children are local to each venue.
DATES: June 2012 – January 2013
OLIVER Around 10 years old and no taller than 4'7, fairish,
fabulous treble singing, unbroken voice, vulnerable but tough and feisty.
Oliver does not really dance but must be co-ordinated.
THE ARTFUL DODGER Maximum height 5 foot, excellent singing and
dancing required, unbroken voice, a big character.
GANG Maximum height 5 foot, excellent singing and dancing required,
unbroken voice, all have their own character and range in age from 7 to 13.
NB BET is played by an adult and will be cast by Cameron Mackintosh Limited.
All of the above are boys so – we only have girls in the local ensemble.
All nationalities, skin colour etc are very welcome.
No fixed braces.
Boys will tour with the show for nine months – 3days on and six days off
Before making submissions please be sure that the schools are fully aware of the commitment and prepared to give permission.
Parents should be aware of the massive commitment that involvement in a show like this requires.
DISCIPLINE Touring 12 boys is difficult and places a lot of strain on the chaperones. We expect all boys to be well disciplined and to behave impeccably. They travel on trains and stay in hotels. They are expected to remember that people will know that they are in OLIVER! and we do not want to attract any negative comments from
members of the public. Any bad behaviour will incur heavy sanctions. Please note that the use of mobile phones and computers is strictly supervised especially in the hotel at night. All boys and their parents must be fully aware of this from the start. With all this in mind the boys will have a fantastic time and we hope that they will be proud to be part of the show.
ENSEMBLE CHILDREN
Two teams of 12 ensemble children (girls and boys) are cast locally to perform
for a few weeks on a rota in their local venue. These auditions are
held in the venue itself over a weekend and are completely separate from
the London auditions. Dates TBC.
All children will be local to the venue .
They will be brought backwards and forwards by their parents but
we will chaperone in the theatre / rehearsal room.
They must be fully available for the rehearsal and performing dates.
The children play various parts in many of the numbers in the
show but are not part of the gang.
They are all under 5 foot.
Boys have unbroken voices and girls are undeveloped.
They are all nationalities.
They are not younger than 8 and not older than 13.
They sing and dance well.
