NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 2012!!
To join the JV's, you need talent stamina, good fitness, and be able to train two hours every week during term time, plus boot camps in the holidays and before competitions. We train for roughly 120 hours a year but you only pay for the term time rehearsals (so you get at least additional 48 practice hours with the choreographers in the studios for free spread over 12 holiday weeks). We perform and compete at least 7 times a year, and you need to be able to attend all comps and performances to be on the main team. Dancers who can't commit to all events will train with the team, but be held as a reserve. Dancers who aren't quite ready with their skills yet will be asked to join the training company for intensive work to get them up to the competitive level needed. This company will be travelling to the USA in 2014.
You will need to audition with us first, be aged 10 or over and a parent must give permission for you to take part. You must also be free to practice each week on Thursday nights, and some extra sundays (before a show or competition) and able to commit to the squad for at least six months to allow for competition.
Rehearsals cannot be missed unless there is serious illness or emergency - all squad members sign a contract agreeing to their full commitment. We have an Senior squad (ASA) and Junior squad (JV Stars) - only the Senior Squad members perform at all events. Junior Squad perform at suitable level competitions & shows.
Some competitions will mean staying away from home for a night as they are a long way away. Expenses are paid by fundraising for these trips, but you must be either able to stay away from home (with our licensed chaperones) or have a parent come with you. Competition is a compulsory part of being on the team.
If you feel over night trips are not for you - why not try our Petite Street or Artemis Junior Training Crew class instead?
