The Arts Award supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders and is available throughout England. The Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification at three levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold.

The Arts Award is run by Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall – two organisations with a high profile and considerable reputation in the arts sector. This means that arts organisations take the Arts Award seriously, and many of England’s best-known arts organisations are getting involved with the award.

Achieving an Arts Award says a lot about a person. It shows your commitment to your art form/s, your interest in developing your skills and understanding, your communication, planning and evaluation skills. It demonstrates skills in leadership as well as your own arts practice.

These skills are what colleges, universities and employers are looking for and many recognise the Arts Award as an additional qualification. The Arts Award team are currently preparing an application to UCAS to attach points to the Gold Award.

The award is delivered via Arts Awards qualified trainers who have extensive experience in an artisitc field and with young people. Artemis is also a registered centre for the Award.

This qualification is available to all Artemis students aged 11-25.

There is no charge for the study group, you simply pay for your start up pack (£4) and when you are ready your exam. This class is run for the benefit of the students and rewards and validates their hard work (most of which takes place during the weekly classes they attend).

The Artemis study group for Bronze and Silver meet once a month to review work done, and plan the next step. Students work at their own pace and do not have to come to each session, new students may take up the award at any point in the year also.
