Medusa Theatre Company! The new name for our teen theatre company - chosen by its current members. A website dedicated to this talented young group (aged 15-19) is under construction.
Medusa theatre company for young adults. All company members have considerable professional and amateur experience, and all are in training for a career in performing. Entry on to this course is by audition/workshop only, the standard is very high.
The company start each week with either a musical theatre singing or dance class- this ensures they stay a triple threat, even if they prefer non musical acting. This class leads to public & charity performances and is shared with members of the Advanced 'triple threat +1' class. This helps students mentor one another, and learn from a greater pool of experiences.
The remaining three hours are spent in acting technique and or rehearsal time. Additional rehearsals may be called before a show, and the cast have access to the Drama Studio for this on Sundays.
Get in touch now if you are aged 15-20 and think you have the talent to join the company! We will also consider talented younger people if places become available. Minimum age 15.
In addition to performing in their shows, students write & devise, direct and produce. Unlike other schools with huge casts, the company is kept to a strict 16 cast maximum to allow everyone a voice within the company.
From September 2008, all company members who wish to, will work towards Silver or Gold Arts Awards as part of the course.
All script books (one per cast member, each person receives his or her own book), costume and show costs are included in the fee.
Show tickets and a company tee-shirt are the only additional cost.
A uniform of a company tee shirt and blue jeans are required (for public performances/PR only - you may wear what ever you wish in class).
Medusa Theatre Company is taught and directed by Writer and director Bart Lee, with Artemis Director Niki Robinson, and guest tutors to ensure company members are thoroughly challenged!
*New* Theatre Company members will now also appear at the Marvellous Festival - performing over two days for audiences of up to 6000 people a day!
