Our professional production company had great success with our Christmas Carol pantomime.

Produced with Blackeyed Theatre (who ran the Henley dates) and Bart Lee, the show ran to sold out audiences in December, using a professional adult cast (including some of our own older students) and a chorus of 15 Artemis children in three teams.

18 year old Max Puplett, who has been with us since September 2007 (when he started acting) has been given a top scholarship!

Dance company will compete against other finalists from across the UK to try for the overall title!

Dance 08 is produced by Central Productions and is the largest competition of its kind for under 21's troupes in the UK. The girls won their place by attending a regional heat in Birmingham in October.

28 Artemis Agency members and students hit Paris on 17th November for 6 days of competitions, workshops, seminars and call backs with 50 top industry VIP's including Pippa Hall and many more.

Congratulations to Maria Gunning (17) and Scarlett Windle (18) who have landed the role of 'Charity' in 'Christmas Carol' this December. The girls will share the role and alternate performances, while playing a series of other smaller characters.

Student Emma Chapman, 18, is to play the title role of Cinderella in a national tour this Christmas.

Emma will be the youngest company member in the professional tour, run by SG Productions.

The tour will start in late November and run through to early January.

Well done Emma!

Well done to Josh Poole, 14. Josh is a member of the Artemis Theatre Company (for 15-19 year olds - an exception was made for Josh as he is unusually good!).

Two tropies for Bracknell!

Dance Company took part in the Midlands regional heats of 'Dance 2008' on Sunday 12th - and qualified! The troupe of 12 girls, will now go to the finals in Blackpool on 18th January- where they will compete for a share of a £4000 prize!

As some of you may be aware, from September, all Saturday students have been doing work as part of normal lessons which goes towards one of the new ‘Arts Awards’, at either Bronze, Silver or Gold level.

These are real qualifications, and for our children represent a way of validating the work they already do, without adding to busy schedules or over loading exams students.

Talented student Scarlett Windle has signed her first record deal. She will use her own material, and material written for her, to record her first album this autumn. The music will be released next year, and she will tour the work with other artists.

If the tour is a success, the album will be picked up by a bigger record company for development.

Well done Scarlett!

Well done to everyone who has been out on auditions in the last few weeks since the holidays began, we have seen some great beginnings for some of you who are staring out as professional actors including..

[inline:laready_oscar.jpg] L.A Ready, our film and television acting class ran as a summer school course for the first time in July, and a great time was had by all!

The week was packed with activities, which included workshops with a make up artist, a children's casting

The show was a real hit, 100's of people (including a sold out schools matinee performance)
saw Theatre Company take the lead roles, supported by Triple Threat, Dance Majors and Dance Company for a spectacular new musical.

Theatre Company member Emma Chapman, 18, was delighted to receive the news that she has landed her first film role (whilst in rehearsals in the theatre for her lead role in Avalon!).

Emma is an excellent actress, who plans to act full time next year during her gap year before going on to one of London's top theatre schools to take a degree.

Emma will shoot in the next few weeks.

Company students began their outreach work programme (which will go towards Arts Awards).

Over 300 children aged 7-11 met members of the company and Bart for a fun filled day in their own
halls. They then came to see the sold out Avalon matinee show.

Tutor Diane Allen is off to Paris this weekend (28th June) to take up a scholarship she won to attend the New York Film Academy. The academy have branches in L.A, New York and Paris (also a film makers course in England). DI will spend her summer in the French capital brushing up on her screen acting techniques.

11 year old Raneisha and her mum Aunjeet moved out to L.A in May, following success at the AMTC US convention last year where she gained a manager and agent.

[inline:ASH_4520.jpg]Following a lengthy wait for first her visa, and then the writers strike to finish, Artemis student Raneisha Legah,11, is finally on her way to Hollywood!

[inline:oedipus-fran-freya.jpg]Congratulations to Francesca Deacon (8) and Freya Harris (10) who are about to embark on their first professional theatre tour! The girls were picked by the Artemis agency team, and the show director (and Artemis teacher) Bart Lee to join the Oedipus cast as the daughters of the title role

[inline:Richard Marsland HS.jpg]Congratulations to Richard Marsland, 18, who beat of adult competition to gain his first professional voice over job in January.

Richard impressed casting directors at Outsource Media and was cast as several characters in 'World Shift' a brand new American RPG computer game.

[inline:ASH_0053-web.jpg]A huge congratulations to Bradley Clapson, who is both an Artemis student and assistant. Brad has been working with Artemis Director Niki since he was 10.

Brad is currently in his final year at the B.R.I.T school, a full time performing arts school in London, (Artemis director Niki was in the Founding year and is proud that so many of our students are following in her footsteps!). He wowed 'Pontins' casting team with his dance earlier this year and was offered a summer job, much to his delight.

[inline:Winter's_Tale_Flyer.jpg]Well done to Maria Gunning, Josh Poole, Max Puplett, Richard Marsland and Artemis co-director Stephen Harrison who have all been cast in lead roles and Verity Richards, Brad Clapson and Danica Kozlik who will be dancing and singing in 'A Winters Tale', which opened this April at South Hill Park.

[inline:the-sun-newspaper.png]Congratulations to Francesca and Christian Deacon who were cast in a summer campaign for The Sun newspaper earlier this year. Both children did a remarkable job (Christian was ill so he taped his audition and still won the job!). Both our agency and their parents were very proud.
