avalon_maria.jpg A huge well done to the cast of 'Avalon - The Musical'
which was a huge success!

The show was a real hit, 100's of people (including a sold out schools matinee performance)
saw Theatre Company take the lead roles, supported by Triple Threat, Dance Majors and Dance Company for a spectacular new musical.

Reviews were excellent and feedback from audience members was superb.

A DVD of the show, which was written for Artemis studios by Bart Lee and with an original score by Tom Neill is currently being edited and will be available at the end of August. A live recording was made during the show performances, and excerpts can be heard on the Artemis website.

Bart Lee will return this autumn as head of drama, and will direct the big show next summer, 'The
Crucible', which will again star Theatre Company in the lead roles and Triple threat as the chorus. Tom Neill has also been re-commissioned to write a sound track for the show, which will feature a live band for incidental music.

What is next?
This term everyone on any of the main Saturday courses (Triple Treat, Theatre Company and Dance Majors by request) will start work on Arts Awards (Bronze, Silver or Gold depending on age). The theme for Triple threat will be 'Comedia Dell Arte' - and we will look at this genre and it's modern counterpart - the panto, learning real songs and dances from a professional show as well as technique, terminology and solo pieces for the end of term show. For more information on arts Awards, visit http//:www.artsaward.org.uk

In addition new workbooks have been drawn up for Triple Threat to make sure you are all the best in
the business!
