laready_oscar.jpg L.A Ready, our film and television acting class ran as a summer school course for the first time in July, and a great time was had by all!

The week was packed with activities, which included workshops with a make up artist, a children's casting
professional, a trip to the Movieum in London where students shot their own films, a day of sword fighting and fight skills, head shot photos and a show reel..phew!

The visiting casting specialist, Matthew Woolcott works with Pippa Hall, a leading children's casting director, and both have worked on many films including the Narnia movies, Nanny McPhee and many many others. Matthew was really impressed with the standards of performance from the children. He has taken away pictures and on camera interviews with all of them to show Pippa for future projects. All the children present are also bow being considered for a short fun film about hobbies.

This was a real foot in the door for new actors who may not have a lot on their CV's. We are very fortunate to have such a great relationship with people like Matthew. Hopefully Matthew will have the chance to meet a few of the students again in November when they attend the AMTC UK convention, which Pippa Hall is very involved in. A special thanks to Lynne Millar at AMTC UK as well for
her invaluable help with the workshop!
