Zumba is back at Artemis - and ahead of our New Year prediction!

Join Allied Schools of Dance on 1st December for the first of a new weekly adult Zumba class.

We are looking for additional Music and Dance teachers for weekdays in 2011.

Medusa - our teen theatre company - will be performing 'The Beauty Manifesto' at the Oxford Playhouse on Thursday 14th April 2011.

PRESS RELEASE FROM GUILDFORD HEAT BASKETBALL TEAM

We are pleased to announce that the play produced by Medusa (our older teen theatre group) as part of a project with the National Theatre, will be 'The Beauty Manifesto', which was our first choice of the 10 plays offered to us.

We will be holding open workshop style auditions this Christmas for our big summer show!

Our dance company boys and girls will compete in Birmingham in October for a place in the finals of Dance 2010.

Five of our best looking boys and girls (and it was a hard choice - they are all so glamorous!) took stage on the catwalk this weekend.

Congratulations to the A.S.A cheer team who are now the official dance crew for the Guildford Heat Basket Ball Team. The team are professional ball players.

Choose from Ballet, Street/Jazz and Pilates with instructor Vicki Tallent. Vicki (who was one of our favourite ballet teachers) hires the studio from us on Monday evenings. She will run 6 week courses in Ballet, Pilates and street/modern dance for over 18's.

Allied offer a great selection of graded (exam based) dance classes at Artemis. From September 2010 these include higher grades in Tap, Modern and Jazz Aerobics. Classes run on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and are available for ages 3 up (depending on style students will be placed in an age appropriate grade).

“Oh no he didn’t!”...”Oh yes he did!”

Artemis Senior Allstars & Artemis JV Stars scooped three trophies at the Kent Street Dance Challenge 2010 (part of UDO).

The Allstars won 2nd place in the Over 18’s category. The JV Stars won 3rd place in the Under 15’s category. Dancer Shara Sood Panchal won 1st place in the Intermediate Solo competition.

Three of our girls, Grace Key (12), Maria Gunning (19) and Kiaya Brace (18) were profiled by teen magazine Bliss this summer.

Artemis director Niki took up hand modelling for Marks and Spencers in the spring. She appears in their summer commercials–look out for them on TV and online.

Alison Brown–in the Agency and Medusa Theatre company–booked a commercial promoting a new Channel 5 show, “Don’t Stop Believin’” this summer. See her in stills posters across London and on the TV commercial.

19 year old Max Puplett, who has been with us since September 2007 (when he started acting) has been given a top scholarship!

Adult Actor Murray Smith starred in a Milky Bar Kid advert over the summer–this can be seen on the TV at the moment, and online.

Murray is part of our Adult Acting course.

6 Young Artemis Agency actors took part in “X” at South Hill Park and Frencham Theatre this summer; all the junior cast were supplied exclusively by Artemis.

24 Artemis kids have been picked to take part as extras in a Climate Change Charity viral film. Starring a well know film actor, this short film is written by Richard Curtis (Blackadder, Four Weddings and A Funeral etc) and gives the young actors a taste of film work. Artemis Agency are exclusively supplying the child extras for this project.

41 children took part in The Windsor Globe show “Aesop’s Fables: retold” The Windsor Globe is co-owned by Artemis owners Niki Robinson and Stephen Harrison and also our artistic director Bart Lee (who directs Medusa theatre company).

We had a busy and fun time this summer, with performances in movies, at the Marvellous Festival, dance competitions, The Windsor Globe and more! Our Facebook group is updated weekly with informal pictures, videos and comments from students & staff well worth joining and often very funny!

The Medusa Theatre Company - our Saturday young adult group (14-21 years)- have been chosen to take part in the prestigious National Theatre connections project. They have selected one of 10 brand new plays - which were commissioned by the NT for the groups taking part.

Calling all Singers! We have been contacted directly by a well known casting directors asking for talented young singer between the ages of 12-16 and 16-22 for a high profile new pop group. They work with hugh labels including Song and formed bands such as The Saturdays. Auditions are in London. Contact Gemah on 01344429403 to be considered for this.

The Artemis Senior and Junior Allstars went to a street dance competition on 4th July. They came back with 1st place for solo seniors for Shara sood Panchal, 2nd place for over 18's Senior Intermediate and 3rd place for the under 16's Junior new comers sections. We have two brilliant trophies in reception and many more to come......

Medusa Theatre Company kids just got accepted by The National Theatre Connections project to work on a new play next spring. They'll be taking it to the Oxford Playhouse if all goes to plan! Parts will be cast in November 2010, and rehearsals commence January 2011. Rehearsals will be on weekdays until half term, and are above and beyond normal Saturday classes.

Medusa are currently shooting a short film written for them by BBC writer Daren Thomas Curley, and shot and edited by a professional crew on location throughout the region.

The film shows on 11th July in Reading.

Paul Jepson of Fireraisers came to visit Triple threat students on 27.03.10.

Paul is an established director with work such as ‘Fame’ in the West End!
