Carla took over as our Head of Hip Hop, Street, Urban and Contemporary from September 2021 and has built up 4 teams and three technique classes for Artemis, leading us to Worlds in under 2 years!

Our other teachers for pre and mini (under Carla’s direction) are Lisa Poggi (highly qualified teacher and dance judge with 20 years experience), Sophia Cross and Georgia Ann Parker (cover).

Our Technique classes for young dancers are one hour long, weekly.

Once they are old enough children move up to juniors and can audition to compete on our Worlds crews!

About Carla Crowley

Carla has been dancing since the age of 5, training in all styles and is a fully qualified IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) teacher. At 13 she got a lucky break and was performing as Annie at the London Palladium. From there she went on to dancing at various places from Legoland to Wembley Stadium. At Just 15 her love for street dance began and she started taking classes in her local area. At the same time she was working with acts like Cleopatra and Five.

She started her own school in the early 00’s and it has been a huge success - winning many awards for outstanding standards of teaching.

Carla is dedicated to developing each and every dancer to their fullest potential but also to providing them with wide and varied opportunities to progress their performance skill and sense of community.

Her dance crews have travelled to Spain and Germany in the last three years to represent England at the Dance World Cup obtaining huge success. They have also performed at various theatres from Her Majesty's Theatre to the Apollo Victoria, in a Little Mix Music Video, at Surreys Next top model, with acts such as Naughty Boy, Le Chic, Sugar Hill Gang, Diversity, Aidan Davis and Status. They have also performed alongside Tinchy Stryder at the 02 and have performed at Guilfest, for Marks and Spencer, TK Maxx and Harrow Housing.

Who is it for?

Technique Classes: Anyone 4 to 9 who would like to learn Street and Hip Hop, make new friends, and take grades.

Dancers can move up through Pre-mini to Mini and the on to Junior, Inter and Senior levels. They can audition for our Worlds crews (Breakout, Precision, Legion) from Junior onwards and compete in the U.K and Europe as part of Team England!
